From the Designer and Planner Jesse of Clover Event Co.:
"The inspiration for this shoot was a modern take on the myth of Hades & Persephone. Pomme served as the perfect backdrop for our story in both name and aesthetic. The venue’s name being a root word for “pomegranate”— the fruit that binds Persephone to the underworld in Greek mythology. And Pomme’s white-walled solarium, with its elegantly simple lines and proportions, was reminiscent of Grecian post & lintel architecture.

Persephone is the goddess of spring and Hades is the god of the underworld. To bring their love and relationship to life, we married the ethereal and delicate details with modern minimalist design elements in black. The trick was to create a harmony between the soft, feminine nature of spring and the bold, sepulchral qualities of the underworld.

For the attire, we selected a clean and powerful look for the groom— a white linen suit paired with a band collar black button down and tasseled black loafers. Our bride wore a silk crepe Kelly Faetanini gown. Sculpted bodice seams gave the look a sense of modern architecture, while the draped Grecian sleeves provided goddess-like elegance. Both looks felt appropriate to the story’s mythological roots, but maintained a contemporary sensibility. We kept the bride’s jewelry simple with just a pair of bold gold earrings peeking out from low-swept chignon and a gray galaxy diamond solitaire with a hidden white diamond halo paired with a diamond contour band.

The florals were designed with a combination of bright spring blooms and dried grass elements. Hazel Dust used bright poppies, earthy pink hellebores, and budding branches in a dynamic, ikebana-style arrangement. A stunning contrast to the delicate dried grasses that represented Persephone’s origins as the daughter of Demeter—goddess of the harvest.

The tablescape was refined and modern. Matte ceramic plates, black and gold flatware, and streamlined glassware alongside washed linens in fog white and clay pink. Our menus featured roman numerals with a vellum overlay and matching place cards. While elegant, organic florals and industrial black candelabra provided the perfect finishing touches to our concept.

For the cake and invitations, we wanted to maintain the sense of modern luxury. The cake mimicked the gold of our dried grass elements while the sharp lines kept with the architectural aspects of our design. The invitations were printed on elongated sheets of pink and ivory paper in a modern serif font, finished with a vellum overlay featuring a custom signature of the bride and groom’s initials and a quote from Rumi."
